João Nabais is the new president of the IDF Europa

 João Manuel Valente Nabais assumes the presidency of the European Diabetes Federation on 23 September 2012. in Lisbon.
The new president officially took over the position from Chris tort during the Annual General Meeting of IDF Europe and forum "Together we are stronger", which was held from September 21 to 23 in the Portuguese capital. After nine years working for the European Federation tort Chris joined the Board of the World Diabetes Federation as Vice President since January 2012.

The meetings attended by over 110 participants - representatives of member associations from across Europe.
The forum "Together we are stronger" enable European Diabetes Federation and the national member associations to take part in interactive and useful seminars on various topics - from Advocacy and Development Diabetes Association to treatment and care for patients with diabetes.
The European Federation thanked all the participants for the very successful operation of the General Assembly and the Board.

Bulgarian Diabetes Association, in its capacity as a member of the Diabetes Federation in December 2011. - send the first representatives of the Board: Dr. A. Stoev - Chairman of BAD and M. Viktorova - Coordinator of International Cooperation and liaison with the IDF.
Established contacts within the forum with representatives of organizations from the UK, Denmark, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Belgium, the Netherlands and others., Both excellent and consolidate friendly relations with the newly elected board members will help to develop the activities of the new BAD in a broader perspective and based on the experience and as successful practices of these organizations.
We are united by a common goal - improving the lives and treatment of people with diabetes.
To achieve this goal - "Together we are stronger" as the motto of the forum.
